Maria Kristelle C. Jimenez, the founder and chief consultant of Rebo Press Book Publishing (RPBP), like anyone else during the lockdown, found it necessary to think of ways to maintain contact with the reading community. Rebo Press is committed to the Filipino reading public and the genuine grassroots movements and communities that animate the cultural ecosystem of the Philippines. More than just a publisher, RPBP wants to interact and commune with others who may be struggling with the lockdown.
The E-Book for Every Juan(a) project is the brainchild of Maria Kristelle C. Jimenez, and is one of the forerunners in the archiving and digital distribution of reading materials in the time of COVID-19. While similar efforts existed, the E-Book for Every Juan(a) project was the first initiative to combine all forms of digital reading materials in an easy to understand format online. After obtaining permission from the authors and creators, Rebo Press took on the daunting task of organizing and uploading the digital materials in a single archive that can be accessed by anyone with an Internet connection.
And it worked: more than thirty authors provided PDF copies of their works for free distribution to readers, and the project was a success.
Rebo Press Book Publishing remains committed to the Filipino reading public regardless of the circumstances, in 2020 and beyond. The following are the contributors who made this book drive possible:
